Information Visitors Provide
Search Entries
When a visitor types a name, location, or related search term into a third-party search tool, that query is sent to the provider operating the tool. Eagle County Inmate Population does not keep its own log of those search terms.
Messages
If a visitor sends an email or contact message, the message and return contact details may be kept long enough to respond. Those messages are not shared outside the organization unless a valid legal requirement calls for disclosure.
Information Collected Automatically
Standard technical information may be collected when a page loads, including:
- IP address.
- Browser name and version.
- Device type and operating system.
- Pages viewed and approximate time spent on them.
- Referring website, when one is available.
- Date and time stamps.
Cookies
Cookies may be used to understand site traffic and basic usage patterns. Visitors can block cookies in browser settings, but some features or partner tools may work differently when cookies are disabled.
How Information Is Used
- Keep the pages available, stable, and reasonably fast.
- Send search requests to the partner service selected by the visitor.
- Understand which Eagle County jail, court, CDOC, VINELink, BOP, and ICE reference pages are useful.
- Find broken links, errors, and other technical issues.
- Display advertising that may be based on general visitor interests.
Outside Websites
This site links to official jail rosters, sheriff pages, Colorado Judicial Branch resources, CDOC tools, VINELink Colorado, BOP, ICE ODLS, and third-party search providers. After a visitor leaves this site, the destination site's own privacy policy and data practices apply.
Advertising partners may use their own systems to measure activity across websites and deliver interest-based ads. That tracking is controlled by those partners, not by the Eagle County Sheriff's Office or any public agency.
Who May Receive Information
Personal information is not sold. It may be available to the following parties in limited circumstances:
- Search partners that process a visitor's query.
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and site performance.
- Advertising networks that serve or measure ads.
- Law enforcement, courts, or government agencies when required by a valid subpoena, court order, or similar legal demand.
Security
Reasonable security practices are used for this site, but no internet-connected service can be promised as completely secure. The site does not guarantee that unauthorized access, outages, errors, or data loss can never occur.
Visitors Under 18
This site is intended for adults. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If a minor has submitted personal information, a deletion request may be made through the contacts page.
Data Rights
- Ask for a copy of personal information held by the site.
- Request correction of inaccurate personal information.
- Ask that personal information be deleted where deletion is legally and technically available.
- Opt out of certain processing where an applicable law provides that right.
